Summer Special! Flexibility Fundamentals (Tuesdays 5-6PM 3 Week Progressive)

If you think of yourself as stiff and not at all bendy then this is the PERFECT class for you.  This class embodies the summer spirit, focusing on safe and functional movements. Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned dancer, this program will help you expand your skills. Maowi focuses on active flexibility in a way that is both safe and rewarding. With years of experience in training both children and adults in circus arts, gymnastics and pole Maowi can find the right progression and modifications for your body. Get ready to embrace the heat and improve your mobility.

Summer Special! - Spin Craft - (Wednesdays 4-Week Progressive)

This Special Summer Series will run as a progressive curriculum on Wednesdays from 5:30 - 6:45 PM from July 17th - August 7th, 2024 at a special series discount.

Spin pole fundamentals are crucial for every pole dancer's practice. This class will concentrate on principles of strength, momentum, and flow, enabling you to develop artistry in your movements. Spin progressions and variations will help you create captivating combinations.

Prerequisite:

We aim to provide a well-rounded, safe class and expect all students to use their best judgement with their bodies' abilities. We recommend completion of Pole Fundamentals or equivalent to ensure injury prevention, students should be able to execute the following comfortably and safely:

  • Knowledge of safe grip
  • Holding full body weight off the ground
  • A beginner climb

Please wear/bring shorts, grip aid recommended.

Summer Special! Heels Fundamentals: Erotica Edition (Sundays 4-Week Series)

Welcome to the July Edition to your Heels Artistry Training. Join us for a 4 week series on the foundations of Erotica Heels. Learn the fundamentals of wearing, moving and dancing in a platformed heel, or stripper shoe.    

We will focus on how to safely move in the shoes, as well as learn foundational erotica moves currently popular in mainstream dance, but originated with club dance/strippers. This class is influenced by old school erotica club dance floorwork, contemporary dance floorwork technique, and Liquid Motion methodologies.  

What to wear/bring:

  • Platformed boots or sandals are recommended (Brands: Pleasers, Hella Heels, Burju etc. see shoefreaks.ca).
  • Kneepads
  • Water
  • Whatever you can move in! If wearing minimal clothings (like a pole or bikini set) bring extra layers clothes - it is helpful so you can determine if you need fabric or skin against floor in order to slide easier. (examples: Sweats, shorts, tops that covers full back)

Class structure: warmup, conditioning (both with and without shoes), technique component, and combinations (to different tempos of music)
